Hold onto your hats (and cars, and boots...) for the first big crawl of 2001, and one which we think no-one else has had a go at yet! Yes, you've done London, now get ready for the Monopoly crawl to end all others, in the Party Capital of the UK, we welcome the Newcastle and Gateshead edition! This page is only a rough guide to the crawl, more will be added as and when I can be bothered, and of course a full review will appear about 6 months after the actual event! ;)

From here, walk to South Shields Metro Station, and take the first Metro to Gateshead Stadium Station. Walk out of the station to pub number 2.
Take the first bus or walk to Gateshead Metro Interchange, and then take any one of the numbers 21, 709 or 724 buses to the village of Birtley. Aligh outside next pub.
Back to the bus stop and jump on any of the numbers 21, 709 or 724 buses back into civilisation. Alight just past the Angel of the North for the next pub.
Another swift drink and then head back for the bus, this time any bus heading into Newcastle will do. Alight at Gateshead Metro Interchange. Take X66 bus to Metrocentre Bus Station. Enter the centre and go upstairs.
Stopping for food on the way, walk all the way through the Metrocentre and across the red car park, through the Metro Retail Park and over to Swalwell.
Take first bus heading into Newcastle and alight near Central Station.
Wander up the back end of Pink Lane and up towards St Cuthberts. Watch for the Brewery in front of you, pubs are on the left.
Turn right up St James Boulevard towards the Stadium and right in front of it liest the next pub.
Find your way across the Car Park and walk up Barrack Road a short way, look for the pub on the opposite side of the road.
Back onto the main road and take the first 76, 77 or 78 bus that comes up towards Kingston Park. Jump off just past the A1 roundabout and walk down towards Tesco.
Cross to the Metro Station and take the Metro up to the Airport. Find bar.
Back to the Metro Station and take the first train back towards town. Alight at Jesmond and find Tankerville Terrace. Next pub awaits nearby.
Walk along Osborne Avenue towards Jesmond Dene.
Take the first 306 or 308 bus into Newcastle Haymarket.
Walk round the corner and down the main shopping precint.
Pick up some food from the outlet of choice, then proceed past Monument to Eldon Square. Next pub is underneath.
Retrace steps to the big pointy thing.
About 100 yards down the road and across the street is the next pub.
Walk round the corner and down towards Central Station.
Walk round the corner, past the big Church, and across the road.
Walk along Collingwood Street and find another big Churchey thing.
Go round the corner towards the Quayside. On your left is the next pub.
Continue towards the Quayside and tail left into whichever pub will let you in.
Walk along the Quayside and find the Ferry landing point.
Retrace back along the Quayside to the last pub, and guess who owns it!
Go Clubbing!
