Hold onto your hats (and cars, and boots...) for the first big crawl of 2001, and one which we think no-one else has had a go at yet! Yes, you've done London, now get ready for the Monopoly crawl to end all others, in the Party Capital of the UK, we welcome the Newcastle and Gateshead edition! This page is only a rough guide to the crawl, more will be added as and when I can be bothered, and of course a full review will appear about 6 months after the actual event! ;)

• Pub 01. SHIELDS FERRY (Transport). Pub Name: The Alum Ale House Time 1100-1110
  From here, walk to South Shields Metro Station, and take the first Metro to Gateshead Stadium Station. Walk out of the station to pub number 2.
• Pub 02. GATESHEAD STADIUM (Pink). Pub Name: The Pear Tree Time 1145-1155
  Take the first bus or walk to Gateshead Metro Interchange, and then take any one of the numbers 21, 709 or 724 buses to the village of Birtley. Aligh outside next pub.
• Pub 03. BIRTLEY (Brown). Pub Name: Coach And Horses Time 1230-1240
  Back to the bus stop and jump on any of the numbers 21, 709 or 724 buses back into civilisation. Alight just past the Angel of the North for the next pub.
• Pub 04. ANGEL OF THE NORTH (Cyan). Pub Name: The Angel View Inn Time 1300-1310
  Another swift drink and then head back for the bus, this time any bus heading into Newcastle will do. Alight at Gateshead Metro Interchange. Take X66 bus to Metrocentre Bus Station. Enter the centre and go upstairs.
• Pub 05. METROCENTRE (Orange). Pub Name: Wetherspoons Time 1350-1400
  Stopping for food on the way, walk all the way through the Metrocentre and across the red car park, through the Metro Retail Park and over to Swalwell.
• Pub 06. RADIO HOUSE (Red). Pub Name: The Skiff Time 1430-1440
  Take first bus heading into Newcastle and alight near Central Station.
• Pub 07. TIMES SQUARE (Yellow). Pub Name: Tut And Shive Time 1515-1525
  Wander up the back end of Pink Lane and up towards St Cuthberts. Watch for the Brewery in front of you, pubs are on the left.
• Pub 08. TYNE BREWERY (Red). Pub Name: The Bodega Time 1530-1540
  Turn right up St James Boulevard towards the Stadium and right in front of it liest the next pub.
• Pub 08. ST JAMES PARK (Pink). Pub Name: The Strawberry Time 1550-1600
  Find your way across the Car Park and walk up Barrack Road a short way, look for the pub on the opposite side of the road.
• Pub 09. FENHAM BARRACKS (Red). Pub Name: The Black Bull Time 1610-1620
  Back onto the main road and take the first 76, 77 or 78 bus that comes up towards Kingston Park. Jump off just past the A1 roundabout and walk down towards Tesco.
• Pub 10. KINGSTON PARK (Pink). Pub Name: The Brunton Arms Time 1650-1700
  Cross to the Metro Station and take the Metro up to the Airport. Find bar.
• Pub 11. AIRPORT (Transport). Pub Name: Cushie Butterfields Time 1720-1730
  Back to the Metro Station and take the first train back towards town. Alight at Jesmond and find Tankerville Terrace. Next pub awaits nearby.
• Pub 12. TANKERVILLE TERRACE (Green). Pub Name: Brandling Inn Time 1805-1815
  Walk along Osborne Avenue towards Jesmond Dene.
• Pub 13. JESMOND DENE (Brown). Pub Name: The Punch Bowl Time 1830-1840
  Take the first 306 or 308 bus into Newcastle Haymarket.
• Pub 14. HAYMARKET (Yellow). Pub Name: Old Orleans Time 1855-1905
  Walk round the corner and down the main shopping precint.
• Pub 15. NORTHUMBERLAND STREET (Blue). Pub Name: The Northumberland Arms Time 1910-1920
  Pick up some food from the outlet of choice, then proceed past Monument to Eldon Square. Next pub is underneath.
• Pub 16. ELDON SQUARE (Orange). Pub Name: The George And Dragon Time 1950-2000
  Retrace steps to the big pointy thing.
• Pub 17. GREYS MONUMENT (Cyan). Pub Name: FM's Time 2005-2020
  About 100 yards down the road and across the street is the next pub.
• Pub 18. GREY STREET (Blue). Pub Name: Legends Time 2025-2040
  Walk round the corner and down towards Central Station.
• Pub 19. GRAINGER STREET (Orange). Pub Name: Yates Wine Lodge Time 2045-2100
  Walk round the corner, past the big Church, and across the road.
• Pub 21. CENTRAL STATION (Transport). Pub Name: Newcastle Hero Time 2105-2120
  Walk along Collingwood Street and find another big Churchey thing.
• Pub 22. ST NICHOLAS CHARE (Green). Pub Name: Bar M Time 2125-2140
  Go round the corner towards the Quayside. On your left is the next pub.
• Pub 23. DEAN STREET (Green). Pub Name: Au Bar Time 2145-2200
  Continue towards the Quayside and tail left into whichever pub will let you in.
• Pub 24. TYNE BRIDGE (Cyan). Pub Name: Muse Time 2205-2220
  Walk along the Quayside and find the Ferry landing point.
• Pub 25. PORT OF TYNE (Transport). Pub Name: Pitcher And Piano Time 2225-2240
  Retrace back along the Quayside to the last pub, and guess who owns it!
• Pub 26. QUAYSIDE (Yellow). Pub Name: Quayside Bar Time 2245-2300
  Go Clubbing!
